Many Baytonians, and corporate sponsors, look forward to BAHS’ annual Mane Event and this year’s event on March 2, 2019 at the Hilton Garden Inn promises to be the most exciting production to date.
Sure, there will be the usual silent auction with a variety of donated items curated to meet every taste and price point. And, there will be a live auction again with select premium donated items, highlighted by a week in a Park City Utah home owned by the Elswick family, all available to raise funds for our agency’s operating expenses (which seem to grow each year). And, of course there will be a client testimonial guaranteed to bring tears to the eye. But wait, there’s more !
Our very own Mayor Don Carlos has somehow been persuaded (strong-armed, sweet talked, or whatever) to subject himself to unmerciful roasting and toasting by several local “dignitaries” during the event.
And how do we know that the roasting will be unmerciful? Because the privilege of roasting the Mayor will come at a high price indeed. Unlike past annual roasts, the opportunity to commit verbal mayhem on the Mayor will be “awarded” to the highest bidders in a pre-event bidding war. Local businessman Roger Elswick, the current BAHS Board Vice-President, is busily soliciting non-refundable bids for the pleasure of “paying due respect” to His Honor that evening, and yes, the price is going up, up, up.
All in all, the 2019 Mane Event will be an event unlike any other in Baytown’s history. You need to witness this…
